To-Do List

The idea is to complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. Why 1001 Days? 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

Some things I’ve put in here are things that should be happening far more regularly, so I’m hoping that having them on an actual list will help motivate me to make them happen more often. I’ve also tried to have some sort of order to the list, so things that I know or hope will happen soon are at the top, and things planned for later in the year or next couple of years are further towards the bottom.

My list is quite fluid, I allow myself to add things as I think of them, or remove them if I find out something is not on my priority list any longer. I’m still adding to the list!

Handmade/DIY Projects

1. Create and make rainbow magnets – See Rainbow Magnets in my flickr set
2. Create ribbon dispenser from empty tissue box – See how I did this!
3. Sew towels to make flat dog beds – They love them!
4. Create and sew chair cover for old single seater couch – Read about it here
5. Paint Goose & Gander canvases and trim with ribbon – Still need to do more, but see the first few here
6. Sew First quilt from kit design – Almost done!
7. Sew baby-size bunny rug
8. Sew homemade Hug-a-Bub sling

House

9. Get photos printed to fill empty frames hanging on wall above TV – I’ll probably move these around now we’ve moved the furniture around! They are mostly my photos from Hawai’i, with some family ones.
10. Steam clean the carpet throughout the whole house – read about how this may have been a waste of time
11. Finish painting all the skirting and architraves in the house – almost!
12. Renovate the bathroom with new tiling, new shower, new vanity & new paint – Just needs paint!
13. Remove big electric space heater, fix wall, add shelves/alcove
14. Fix shelf in bedroom that has been wobbly for 2 years
15. Finish Office makeover – See my home Office Makeover
16. Finish Laundry makeover
17. Rip up carpet in main living areas, get timber floors stained and finished throughout TADA! See my beautiful floors.
18. Paint living room walls white
19. Measure, quote order and install blinds for windows in living room
20. Measure, quote, order and install screen door for front door
21. Replace carpet in spare room
22. Paint spare room deep turquoise and white – So pretty!
23. Buy new furniture for spare room

Garden

25. Dig out triangle of dirt in front of rubbish bins and fill with gravel – See post about mini landscaping project
26. Mulch front circular garden and put in watering cones
27. Finish putting watering cones in with hedges and build up garden bed
28. Purchase 1 tonne of compost soil and get delivered
29. Create garden to fence off front corner
30. Get big dead tree chopped down
31. Create Garden at end of house (dead tree end)
32. Edge all garden beds in same style of edging

Food

33. Cook 30 new and different recipes out of our many recipe books (2/30) – this is not going too well
34. Make homemade sushi
35. Bake and decorate an awesome Halloween cake for birthday party – See photo of Haunted House Cake
36. Bake and decorate sugar cookies for my baby shower – they turned out so cute!
