Hens Party Hoopla

Last weekend I went up to Sydney (2nd time in a week following BublĂ©) for a work friends Hens night. It was really fun! Her bridesmaids organised an art class (there was nudity involved, but since I’ve done life drawing at Uni before I found I was really getting into the drawing part of it, [...]

Booble and Ikea

Hello people! Long time no chats! We’re up to the second week of term, at college and Uni, which equals lots of teaching hours and LOTS of names to learn, so I’ve been a bit awol from the old bloggity blog, but I’m going to try my hardest to pop in with interesting things over [...]

Mathilda’s Markets in Lane Cove

This weekend past I trekked up to Sydney to hold a stall at the Mathilda’s Markets in Lane Cove. It was such a lovely day outside! We were set up in the gym at St Ignacious College, which was a great location and had big crowds of people come through. Successful day for me? Well, [...]

New buttons in the Mikaela Handmade store

Leading up to having a stall at the Mathilda’s Markets in Sydney on the 8th August, as well as making stock for the Shop Handmade Canberra, I’m a busy little bee over the next 2 weeks! I managed to photograph and upload these pretty things to the store tonight though, let me know which you [...]

We had a great weekend

The drive up to Sydney was uneventful, whenever JA drives I pretty much just fall asleep, which can make him tired too but he’s a trooper and got us there in one piece =) We checked in to the hotel on King Street (not fancy pants but really great location, we were a 20 minute [...]

This wedding is going to be fabulous and amazing, Beck has excellent taste, and she’s chosen to have a formal wedding on a pier on Darling Harbour and then the reception at [...]

Dinner at the Prague Czech Beer Restaurant

The Prague Czech Beer Restaurant is located in Kings Cross, Sydney. We went there last Friday night with 14 of our friends as part of our October long weekend beach holiday.

It was A-MAZING. The start of our over-eating endeavours for the whole weekend! Before we went I wasn’t really sure what constituted Czech food, turns out it’s basically lots of delicious meats cooked to perfection. The highlights were the Pork Ribs, Beef Goulash (my choice) and the Bohemian Party Plate.

Our beach holiday was foiled by lots and lots of rain

I even got a spray tan. Which is pretty rare. I had visions of lying on the beach, letting my skin soak up the rays (after slathering loads of sunscreen everywhere, of course), then skipping down to the water to cool off for a few minutes before stretching out again in the nice, warm sunshine.

I love the sun. I love the way it feels and how it seems to make everyone a bit happier. It’s the time of year when the weather is pretty much perfect, no longer chilly but not quite into the dead stinky heat of summer, just nice and warm and sunny.

Not this October long weekend however. Continue reading for photos of BBQ-ing in the rain and yabbies…

Sunny weather is here

Or at least within 300 kilometres of here… On the weekend we drove up to Sydney after John’s game of soccer and stayed with a friend in their Bondi apartment (thanks Milly!). Sunday morning, we woke up to this view: The temperature was predicted to be 29 degrees celcius that day, how badly do you [...]
