{DIY} Baby Shower Jungle Cake

For Katie’s baby shower back in September I decorated a cake to match her Jungle Animals theme, it was lots of fun and I LOVE how it turned out! I’ve come to realise I’m definitely more of a decorator than a baker, so I bought a chocolate mud cake from The Cheesecake Shop and decorated [...]

Happy Halloween : part 1

Last night we had a Halloween Party at JA’s mom’s house. We’d spent a lot of the day running around doing stuff, and didn’t have a lot of time to get ready (we were late as it was). I threw together a “gypsy/pirate” outfit using clothes and accessories I already had, and JA ended up [...]

Nandy’s 90th Birthday

I just had to share this photo of my grandma blowing out her candles at her 90th birthday party. Amazing, right?

Halloween party!

As I’ve posted a few times already, I decided to throw a Halloween party for my 25th this year. I think I like planning and decorating for parties almost more than attending them, that’s the fun part! So I spent a few days leading up to the night putting up spooky decorations (which my dogs and cats promptly took down) and made a cool haunted house cake.

In the end I had a really great time, about 20 of my good friends came and ate and drank and were merry! I’d set up a bucket to bob for apples, apparently it was too easy because the bucket was too shallow, but it was pretty funny watching the boys anyway.

You can see the whole set of photos on my flickr account, otherwise, continue reading to see a few snaps.

Halloween Party Decorations

I’ve taken some photos of the decorations I’ve bought for my Halloween Party, any visitors from the US might think it’s not very much stuff, but people from Aus know Halloween isn’t big here so it will be enough to get everyone in the mood =P I’ve got some black velvety type fabric (left over [...]

Totally amazing party invitations for a 6 year old’s bowling birthday

I’ve just discovered Danielle’s blog (and store), and the first post I read has sucked me right in, she’s a girl after my own heart! For her son’s 6th Birthday party, she created these totally amazing invitations by photographing her kid (complete with cute bowling shirt and hat) outside a 50′s style bowling alley, designing some graphics to go with the theme, printing, cutting, pasting… and viola!

Doggie Bones Costume for Halloween

I came across this cute costume today whilst looking for halloween costume ideas: Not many people in Australia actually celebrate Halloween, but I’ve wanted to have a Halloween party for YEARS, so decided for my quarter of a century this year I’m going ahead and doing it. I designed my party invite today (and by [...]
