So that to-do list I wrote on Friday? Yeah, didn’t actually do one thing on it. I did however go to gorgeous Heidi’s 1st Birthday and it was cute-o-rama. One of the most beautiful babies I know. It does help that her parents are total hotties. This was the little gift we gave her, a [...]
To celebrate Sophie’s (ChloĆ©’s mum) birthday and also wish Clo and Scott Bon Voyage (for their big trip to Europe, exciting!), we had a lovely gathering of friends and family this evening at Sophie’s house (Soph is a gardener and it shows, I am so envious of her beautiful garden). JA and I were so [...]
The drive up to Sydney was uneventful, whenever JA drives I pretty much just fall asleep, which can make him tired too but he’s a trooper and got us there in one piece =) We checked in to the hotel on King Street (not fancy pants but really great location, we were a 20 minute [...]
We have a pretty full weekend planned this week, starting tomorrow (Friday!) with a road trip to Sydney for our good friends’ wedding. This wedding is going to be fabulous and amazing, Beck has excellent taste, and she’s chosen to have a formal wedding on a pier on Darling Harbour and then the reception at [...]
Today I hosted another Tea Party, this one being much more successful than the last (where everyone canceled and it was my mum and I eating all the finger food by ourselves haha! disaster). 11 gorgeous girls came over (including school friends, work friends, mums and my 90 year old Nandy) to play ladies, and [...]
I spent the afternoon with two of my best friends and a gorgeous 4 month old today. I want babies! Here is a photograph of cutie pie Ashley Grace:
Yesterday we went to the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra with some friends and watched one of them “Meet a Cheetah”, then went around to all the animals and said hello. Oh by the way, it was the coldest September day in Canberra in 40 years. Quite the chilly outing it was. But the animals must have liked the cold because they all came out and said hello and put on a bit of a show for us, so it was definitely worth braving the 8C degree weather with wind and rain and yukkiness.

Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere. I'm Mikaela, I am female, 25, married, and busy by choice. I love life and have too many ideas in my head, and wish there were more hours in the day (I'm sure old people always said that when I was growing up). I live in and love Canberra, Australia (2 hours to beach or snow, what more could you ask for?). For more about who I am and what I do, go to the about page =)

We had giant hamburgers for dinner. Bun, tomato sauce, mustard, cheese, hot chilli meat pattie, more cheese, pineapple, beetroot, tomato, lettuce, avocado, bun. YUM. Giant! I had two. See my last post about always eating too much.
Yesterday I was in Coles and saw this yummo looking Italian bread which inspired me to make Bruschetta as an entreĆ© to dinner last night. I forgot to get Olive Oil when I was there so had to improvise with peanut oil, but it wasn’t too bad. I buttered the bread (no oil, remember?), spread [...]
This is a recipe I sort of made up about 4 years ago. I think it’s probably based on something I had once and I just tried to remember the ingredients when putting it together. I’ve got it down to a fine art now, everyone loves this salad. It goes perfectly with snags and steak [...]
Before going to the coast last week I made 2 ribbon organiser boxes. One turned out really well, the other not so much. Here is the latter, made from an old tissue box. The reason I don’t like the end result is because the tissue box was too flimsy to begin with, the walls went [...]
As promised, here are Girds’ and Harley’s new doggie beds! The reason I decided to make these is because their current beds are lumpy, big oofy pillows, with blankets on top. They take up far too much room in our bedroom, aren’t very portable, and are hard to wash. These beds, however, are the opposite [...]
Yesterday and today were spent putting my house back together, so I haven’t had a chance to complete the DIY projects I wanted to do today to show here. Hopefully I can finish the doggie beds tonight as well as at least start on my ribbon organiser… We’ll see how I go, I still have [...]
