We had giant hamburgers for dinner. Bun, tomato sauce, mustard, cheese, hot chilli meat pattie, more cheese, pineapple, beetroot, tomato, lettuce, avocado, bun. YUM. Giant! I had two. See my last post about always eating too much.
Yesterday I was in Coles and saw this yummo looking Italian bread which inspired me to make Bruschetta as an entreĆ© to dinner last night. I forgot to get Olive Oil when I was there so had to improvise with peanut oil, but it wasn’t too bad. I buttered the bread (no oil, remember?), spread [...]
This is a recipe I sort of made up about 4 years ago. I think it’s probably based on something I had once and I just tried to remember the ingredients when putting it together. I’ve got it down to a fine art now, everyone loves this salad. It goes perfectly with snags and steak [...]
On Thursday night we went to see Arj Barker‘s show at the Canberra Theatre. He brought up some really interesting and serious points about tolerance and acceptance (obviously in line with what he strongly believes, as do I), then totally polarised them with quick objectionable statements. Hilarity ensued. Good times. Funny Man.
I bought the tickets a long time ago after I got a direct message from him on Twitter (good marketing ploy there! we love him anyway though so I only really needed reminding that he was coming back to Aus), and it was a nice little surprise to remember the Tuesday beforehand that we had somewhere to go Thursday night.
The dinner was amazingly fancy, Grand Angus burgers at Maccas afterwards. Dinner and a show with husband, it was a great date night =)
The Prague Czech Beer Restaurant is located in Kings Cross, Sydney. We went there last Friday night with 14 of our friends as part of our October long weekend beach holiday.
It was A-MAZING. The start of our over-eating endeavours for the whole weekend! Before we went I wasn’t really sure what constituted Czech food, turns out it’s basically lots of delicious meats cooked to perfection. The highlights were the Pork Ribs, Beef Goulash (my choice) and the Bohemian Party Plate.

This homemade pizza is one of my absolute favourite dinners, so yum, and always enough for cold pizza breakfast the next day. Perfect! You will need: Pizza Bases (the best I’ve ever had are Bazaar Gourmet Pizza Bases 2pk 440g, $4.90) Pizza sauce (we use Leggos Pizza Sauce Squeeze Garlic Onion Herbs 400g, $3.60) Toppings [...]
On a cold, cold Spring day… No recipe for this one, it’s a (damn good) packet soup and bread from a bag. An awesomely cheap meal, Heinz Simply Create Tomato and Basil soup ($2.79), just heat in a saucepan, even without the frills they suggest (extra basil, pan friend cherry tomatos) it’s REALLY YUM. I [...]
Dinner: Beef Pad Siew Made from the recipe found on Taste.com.au (needed a bit more flavour, I added some hot chili sauce that we had in the fridge) Breakfast: French Toast Eggs, milk & cinnamon in a bowl, soak bread in mixture, cook in lots of butter to cook bread through then give it a [...]
