This is Nandy, my grandma on my mum’s side. This was taken about 2 years ago.

Nandy’s turning 90 in 2 weeks, and she’s pretty amazing! She wanted to go up in a hot air balloon but unfortunately you have to be pretty able-bodied to do that, and she relies on a wheelchair to get around. Instead my mum and aunty are taking her to the Military Tattoo in Sydney, she’ll love it.

My sister and I grew up going to my grandparents house after school practically every day, so I am very close to them (Pa passed away in 2008). They had an equal hand in raising us with our parents, and I can only hope our kids have the same relationship with their grandparents.
