And here they are!
Now, these photos are evidence that timber floors get really dusty. Really quickly. I’m talking a matter of hours, not even days. So of course I’ll need to sweep them probably every second day and mop twice a week… but you know what? I’d much rather do that than have the feral dust and dirt building up in the carpet and not knowing about it (until you pull the carpet up and see the 10 years worth of dirt sitting on the floor underneath).
The last thing I need to get is a few floor rugs, I’m planning on light-ish coloured ones in a hard wearing material, probably jute.

I LOOOOVE my floors, much much more than the pink carpet. Sorry pink carpet, you had to go. @Jubsie coined the colour “Salmon” for me, and she was dead on. Now whenever I say anything about a colour (eg, for Harley’s new dog collar) JA likes to suggest Salmon.
Today was spent cleaning up the kitchen (the temporary dumping ground for everything throughout this whole process), and I finished the dog beds! Finally. I’ll post about those tomorrow sometime.
Ahhh tomorrow can’t come soon enough, I’ve got an hour and a half massage booked in at 10am (birthday gift voucher), then visiting a friend and her bub (so clucky), then coming home for more pampering.. planning to give myself and manicure and pedicure and just relaxxxxx (also have a bit of design work to do, but I can multi-task while my feet are soaking). Hope you have something nice planned for your Thursday!

What a difference they make. When mine need resanding are you available for hire?

You’ve done a remarkable job with the floor…Wow!. And as a mentioned on H1 I love the fact that you haven’t gone the high gloss look…gives it character.

Thanks Mike! I’m happy with how they turned out, already got a few scratches though… I’m ignoring them for the next 5 years =P

Get yourself a Roomba to clean the floors – we’ve got one in our living area (Tasmanian Ash floor). We set it to come on every evening once we head to bed, and it cleans up all the cat hair then returns back to it’s base. Little $$, but so worth it!
