Husband sent me an amazing link the other day. Gizmodo held a shooting challenge the other week to create an image using slow shutter speed. Usually what you think of when hearing slow shutter speed is a bunch of car light trails or some people jumping around with LED’s… but some of the entries in [...]
Recently I contacted someone to ask if I could use their images in a free article I was sending out to my mailing list, with links back to her website. She politely declined, stating she reserves all rights. This got me thinking about my photographs and how they might be useful for others to use [...]

Enjoy your weekend everyone, I’ll be back sunday night!
I’ve been wandering the intarwebs and have stumbled across some mighty fine blogs lately! The kind of blogs that draw me in are usually people who have passion and can tell a story (it’s not quite Friday yet but I’m not sure I’ll get time to post tomorrow, so we’ll just have to pretend I’m from the future)…
My top 5 blogs for this week are:
#1. Kim Vallée – this woman has some amazing links! I’ve been going there a lot recently because she has so much stuff for Halloween (with my Halloween Party coming up)
#2. Design*Sponge – Vast collection of crafty eye candy, withlots of lovely DIY projects
#3. The Shabby Nest – Wendy does a great job of interior decorating on a budget, and doing it right (Shabby Chic not Crappy Cheap). Look at this innovative use of space: A Mini Mud Room
#4. Making it Lovely – Nicole Balch has a really well designed site, it’s just nice to look at! She also details her home renovation / decoration projects, which I love reading about!
#5. Caity.nu – my parrallel universe buddy, we are both teachers, same age, both cut our hair the other week.. haha. Caity is cute and lovely, and newly Vegan (for health reasons! love it)
Obama on Winning the Nobel Peace Prize Obama said he was surprised and deeply humbled by the honor, and planned to travel to Oslo in December to accept the prize. “Let me be clear: I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments, but rather as an affirmation of American leadership on [...]
I’m really excited to be launching my other side project soon, www.justdetails.net. It’s going to be a “Wedding services and guide for brides” website, dedicated to the Canberra region. Usually my projects are always global, reaching out to a market worldwide. This time I’ve decided to keep it local, to promote small businesses competing with the big boys in this fierce industry. Canberra actually has a lot to offer and you don’t always have to go interstate or abroad to find what you need, you just need to dig a little deeper. Which is what I plan to do for the Brides-to-be of Canberra, listing some great resources and design and photography services provided by moi.

The University of Canberra and the school I work for (College in Canberra is grades 11 & 12, aka highschool everywhere else), specifically the design area, have a close relationship that I work to keep (I think it’s important to have those connections). We do a joint project with them (along with 4 other colleges) every year where 2 final year Uni students come into one of my design classes once or twice a week and work collaboratively with the students to produce a solution to a very broad design brief given by the University.
This year the brief was “Slow”. That’s it, just one word. Slow.

About Madly Deeply: Madly Deeply is a business that I have recently relaunched in 2009. I used to design, make and sell jewellery about 5 years ago under the name “Glam Jewellery”. The Glam label was popular among friends, family and online, but wound down and slowly came to a halt as I finished my University studies in Graphic Design and Education, and started my career as a Senior Secondary Teacher. Luckily I was wise enough to keep all my jewellery making supplies and am now relaunching the business under it’s new name, with 8 popular earring designs ready for retail and wholesale.
