I’m terrible at reading blogs. Really bad. Even the blogs I love visiting regularly, I’ll mostly skip over the words and just read the captions beneath the photos. So this is why I love Allison’s blog, it’s very visual =) Go check out her site and her gorgeous boys.

I’m going to slant my answer towards the creativity I bring to my home decorating, DIY house projects, renovations and the like. I’d have to say in reference to my house and the goals I’d like to achieve, most of my inspiration comes from a few places on the internet, and my friends.

All of my friends have really lovely homes, but a select few of them also have neat, tidy, well organised and well decorated homes. Every time we come home from visiting a particular couple, I always want to throw out 3 more pieces of furniture, because we have so.much.stuff… Another couple (well, the lovely wifey, the husband has a good deal here) keeps their home immaculately clean and tidy. Whenever we come home from their place I want to do the dishes, clean the kitchen, and vacuum the house all at once. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel a need to compete with these people (at ALL, they are our good friends), I just see their homes and think “gosh how nice would it be to live in a home as neat/tidy/organised as this all the time”. So that is one source of inspiration, of the de-cluttering vein.

On the good ol’ internets, of course there is Pinterest. I LOVE Pinterest. Before this magnificent website, I used to save hundreds of images to my computer in an “inspiration” folder, and then later have to guess why I saved it and what in the image I had liked or wanted to replicate. Now I can save all these images into a virtual scrapbook, which also links to the original website, article or how-to, along with putting my own little notes to each image. Genius!

I also look to a few bloggers for house inspiration. Firstly, DoorSixteen. Anna has pretty much finished all her main house renovations and makeovers now, but looking through her Flickr stream, her house is just amazing, and she has a super sense of style and design.

Along with following Anna, I love seeing regular DIY Projects by Kate of Centsational Girl. That woman is amazing with a can of spray paint! Her design style of her home is lovely (though not my style) and she gives fantastic step-by-step how-to’s on all her projects.

And from Australia, I follow Belinda of The Happy Home. Belinda has just moved from her home where most of her renovations and makeovers took place, but I’m really looking forward to seeing what she does when they buy their next house!

Insert Intagram, and your memories are preserved in a prettier light =)

So, imagine my delight when I came across Casetagram, an online store where you make your own Phone case with your Instagram photos on the back! I tell you, for $35 with free worldwide shipping, it’s awesome. And fast! My case arrived within 2 weeks =)

The only problem now is, I put my phone on surfaces screen down because I don’t want to scratch my pretty case =P

Some other cool sites that print your instagram photos in various formats include Printstagram and Stickygram, and I’ll be ordering from both very soon =D

This weekend’s photo is from Sunday. We had JA’s dad over with Katie and Pete for Fathers Day hamburgers, they were YUMMO! So yum, that we had them again for dinner =P

I stole ideas from both these girls, because after a day of water skiing I don’t have an original thought left in my head.

1. Family Stuff – I had an older sister who passed away in 2005, and an older half brother who I only found out about later the same year. My parents seemed really worried to tell me, like I’d flip out or something, but I thought it was awesome (and still do of course), insta-family! So I also have 2 of the sweetest little nieces, as an added bonus =)

2. Body stuff – (sounds kinky!) I can touch my nose with my tongue. Now that is fairly random and a fact I’m sure you were all desperate to know.

3. Indulgences – I don’t smoke, very rarely drink (once maybe every 3 or 4 months), and don’t do drugs (and haven’t, pretty much ever). These are lifestyle choices I have made, and at times you can feel like a bit of a social outcast (when “everyone else is doing it”), but 95% of the time I am of the thinking that while it is fine for others to put that shit into their body on a regular basis, I’d rather not, and I think I’m a much healthier and happier person for it (than I would be otherwise).

4. Collections – I have a modest collection of Salt and Pepper shakers. I think this started because my mum has a little collection of her own S&P shakers. I have about 5 or 6 at the moment, I think over the years that number will definitely grow.

5. Tastes – I LOVE cake, but I hate the icing. It is always so rich and sickly sweet. Mind you, the cake has to be just right, if it’s too dry that it *needs* icing, then it’s just not that great anyway. A thick, moist slice of chocolate (dark or white) mud cake – hold the icing – is my perfect dessert. Or Profiteroles. I can eat a whole packet of them (8!) by myself in one go. ooooh now I’m hungry.

6. Favourites – My favourite colour in general in blue, favourite colour to wear is a deep turquise/teal (or anything bright). Favourite number is 2 (first choice of shirt in soccer, 2nd choice is 6). What else do you usually have a favourite of? can’t think of anything.

7. Life – I’m a big believer in Karma. The main thing I want my eventual kids to grow up with is “be a good person”. In general. Be nice to people, do good things, think of others, be compassionate. I try!

Roomba robot vacuum, would be great for my wooden floors that have doggie fur on them every. single. day.

Fuji Instax Instant Camera would be so fun to play with.

Speaking of playing, definitely lusting over the iPad.

So now I need to sell lots of goodies at the markets to be able to buy one of these =) Wish me luck!
